The First Submission

The Arctic Circle did not start out of the box as it appears now.   My first submission back in 1999 focused on an native of the arctic world, Moe, his sled dog, London, and an un-named penguin.   I also intended to use the creatures of the arcitc, Mother Nature, the Sun and Moon, and other odd characters to guest star.   My problem was that the characters lacked focus and the humor was more miss than hit.   I did receive one bit of positive feedback.   The last rejection form letter came the Cartoonists and Writers Syndicate with a handwritten note - "Beautiful Work!"   Those two words kept the spark alive to try again.  By the way, you'll find the first pairing of the arctic fox and polar bear in here.
